Please send in a clean sock with your child.  This will be used for cleaning his/her dry erase board we use for spelling and handwriting.   Also, if you could send in envioronmental print for our social studies unit that would be helpful.   So, any empty boxes, (cereal boxes, cracker boxes, rice boxes,) empty bags with names, King Sooper, Safeway, marshmallows, etc.  Send in the empty boxes and bags and we will use these for our envioronmental bulletin board.

Gratefully,

Newsletter, August 11th

Let's get this party started!  Your children have been amazing and are off and running on a brand new journey.  I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at back to school night.  6:00-6:30 or 6:35-7:05.

Next week we will begin a two week color unit.  We will learn about colors through songs, poems and many activities.  In order to reinforce these concepts we would like to encourage the children to dress in our "Color of the Day."  Please do not feel that you need to purchase any special clothing for this activity.  If your child has the appropriate color in his/her wardrobe, great!  If not...don't stress over it. Here is a list of the color days for next week.

Monday, August 15th - red
Tuesday, August 16th - yellow
Wednesday, August 17th - blue
Thursday, August 18th - purple
Friday, August 19th - green

Kindergarten Enrichment Program

As some of you are aware, Curiosity Club is a kindergarten enrichment program that serves Highlands Ranch and the surrounding areas for the past 10 years!  We do not advertise as we believe word of mouth is way more powerful!  If your parents are looking for a program to enrich their kindergarten experience, please have them check out our program.  I have included some information below as well as testimonials from teachers in the district.  Please feel free to include this information in your class newsletters & emails.  If you prefer, I would be happy to provide you with flyers and/or brochures.  Any questions, please call me at 720-635-1735 or emailcuriosityclub@comcast.net.  Teachers with the most referrals to our program will receive a Visa Gift Card for $50.  (Simply have your parents mention your name with their registration!) If you are no longer teaching kindergarten, please forward this to your school's kindergarten teachers!
Hope you have a fantastic school year and I hope I get the chance to meet you!
Thank you in advance,
Debbie Kohn

STOP! Don't throw that away!

- clean out that toy box and bring in the toys for our treasure chest
- rinse out those plastic starbuck's frappucctino cups, with the domed lids, for painting in class
- plastic lids from washing detergent for math cups
